What You Can Do If You Face Violence

If you are subjected to violence, remember that you are never alone. Steps you can take:

  • Get to safety: In immediate danger call 155 Police or 112 Emergency.
  • Download KADES: With the Ministry of Interior's Women's Support Application you can report your location to the police with one tap.
  • Use Law No. 6284: Victims of domestic violence can apply to the police or prosecutor for protective measures and get free legal aid from bar associations.
  • Social support line: Call 183, the Family, Women, Children and Social Services Consultation Line.
  • Keep evidence: Photos of injuries, messages, threatening correspondence and witnesses matter in legal proceedings.
  • Shelters and associations: Mor Çatı, bar association women's rights centres and provincial social services provide support.
